Shout Records was a subsidiary of Bang Records, active between 1967 until 1972. Shout was set up as a Rhythm & Blues and Soul label, headed by Bang owner Bert Berns personally. The new label was successful from the start with a number one hit by Freddie Scott, and recordings by Roy C, Bobby Harris, and Aretha Franklin's sister Erma.
Shout was primarily a singles label and only two albums were released in six years. When Bang was sold to Columbia Records the masters of Shout were also transferred.
