Oasis Records was started in the early 1970s by Italian producer Giorgio Moroder in Munich, Germany. In 1975, the label became a subsidiary of American Casablanca Records, and made history with the release of Donna Summer's "Love To Love You, Baby," the first extended version disco mix. Donna Summer, produced by Moroder, became the biggest star of "Disco" and her first album was released on Oasis Records.
With the reorganisation of Casablanca Records in 1977, the Oasis label became independent once again as a purely German label. Oasis continued to put out new releases in Germany until 1985.
