Dimension Records was founded in 1962 in New York City by Don Kirshner and Al Nevins as a division of their production company production company, Nevins-Kirshner, and Screen Gems Inc. It was primarily a singles label, and many of the songs were written by the songwriting team of Carole King and Gerry Goffin. Only two albums were released on Dimension, an album by Little Eva, who gave the label its biggest hit with "The Loco-Motion", and a singles compilation named "Dimension Dolls."
Dimension Records was sold to Columbia/Colpix in 1965, and Don Kirshner moved on to found his Kirshner Entertainment Corporation with the labels Calendar Records and Kirshner Records.
