Buk Records was set up late in 1974 by Paul Murphy with financial backing from German company BASF. Buk was distributed by Decca Records in the UK, London in the US, and BASF in Germany, and the label had a brief licensing deal with CBS from 1976 on.
Financial troubles led to Buk Records' liquidation in early 1977.
