Swan Records was an American record label founded 1957 in Philadelphia. It was primarily a singles label, but 16 albums were released between 1959 and 1964. Swan was distributed by Cameo-Parkway and its biggest star was Freddy Cannon.
Today, Swan Records is probably best known for releasing The Beatles' "She Loves You" in the United States. The label was co-owned by Bernie Binnick and Tony Mammarella, and it was Binnick who secured the American rights to this song during a summer vacation in England. Oddly enough, Swan also released the German language version "Sie liebt dich" in the United States, which of course didn't make an impact. Swan closed its doors in 1967.
