Major Minor Records was an Irish label based in London, founded in 1966 by Ronan O'Rahilly and Phil Solomon, both involved with the legendary pirate radio station Radio Caroline. The label released pretty much anything across all genres with the bulk of releases being mainstream pop and rock, easy listening and country. Many of the released were by international (USA, Netherlands, France) artists that hadn't been picked up (or dropped) by the major UK labels.
But Major Minor also released a relatively large number of singles/albums by Irish artists like Rory Gallagher's Taste and Van Morrison's Them. And its roster includes a number of psychedelic/progressive rock bands that are now considered very collectible, including July, Zoo, Roger Bunn, Pulse and Head Machine.
Major Minor Records lasted only for about four years. By fall of 1970 the label ran out of money and ceased operations.
