Horo Records is an independent Italian jazz label, founded on 1972 by producer Aldo Sinesio. The label was dedicated to contemporary jazz, and with important recordings by Sun Ra, Archie Shepp, Don Pullen, George Adams, Dave Burrell, Stafford James, Enrico Rava, Massimo Urbani, Sam Rivers, and my others, became a major platform for post-free jazz of the Seventies.
Between 1973 an 1976, a total of 35 albums were released in the "Jazz A Confronto" series, 12 records in the HZ Series (1976 to 1979), and 21 double albums in the HDP series from 1976 to 1979. Horo Records does still exist today and has a very nice and comprehensive website, and the entire original catalog is currently available on pre-order for vinyl reprints.
