Billingsgate Records was a small independent label, based in Chicago and run by Gary Pollock. It was started in 1973 with the American release of German progressive rock band Neu!, and the majority of Billingsgate's albums were licensed German Krautrock bands as Lucifer's Friend, The Scorpions, Frumpy and Epitaph.
However, this experiment failed pretty quickly and Billingsgate had piled up so much debt that it had to file for bankruptcy by the end of 1974.
