Paula Records was a subsidiary of Stan Lewis' Jewel Records, started in 1965 as an outlet for popular music. It was named after Lewis' wife Paula. The label's more successful acts were John Fred & His Playboy Band and The Uniques. A jazz series was started in 1973, and in the early 1980s, Paula Records was briefly distributed by MGM for three Mickey Gilley albums which also mark the end of the label's history.
The label design for Paula albums was pretty much unchanged over the years, just the colours ranged from pink over blue to dark red.
